The Friday English Youth Meeting is a night where the Youth meet in a Spiritual Atmosphere to learn more about the church's faith, traditions and issues that the youth search answers to. This meeting is organised and run by the youth themselves so as to cater for their needs at these early stages of their spiritual lives.

Meetings are held weekly on Tuesday nights from 8pm where all the youth are welcome to attend in the administration, organising and running of the meetings.

The Friday Arabic Meeting is conducted on Friday nights from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. The night consists of a talk, Bible study contemplation and prayers. All are welcome to join us.

The Pre-servants Course aims to train youth and adults alike who have completed school or/and who are interested in becoming servants of Sunday School and involved with other services throughout the church. Pre-servants Meetings take place every Saturday afternoon from 7:30pm to 8:30pm. The classes follow a set curriculum which each student must graduate from in order to become qualified servants.

The Pre-Servants Course is a two year course where students must complete final exams, a major assignment and prepare a lesson for observation and marking in order to successfully complete the course. The Program for the Pre-Servants course will be available online soon.

Anyone interested in participating in the pre-servants meetings should contact Fr Mikhail Mikhail for details on when the next course schedule commences.

Every Saturday Night, the Asheya (Vespers) are held in both Arabic and English. The Asheya starts at approximately 7:30pm (Arabic) and 8:30 pm (English). Following Vespers both an Arabic and English Bible Study is held.

On Saturday Nights, English Pre Servants Class is held before the Asheya; from 7:30 - 8:30pm. (Read above for more on Pre-Servants)

By the Grace of God, there is an English Bible study and contemplation on Saturday nights with Fr Mikhail, following the Asheya. Currently we are studying the Gospel of St. Luke, this in-depth verse-by-verse study comparing it to the other Gospels is not to be missed!

Following the Bible Study, Coptic Lessons are lead by Deacon Ashraf Sedrak, for all beginners, teaching the Coptic alphabet, reading, writing and grammar. To conclude the night the Tasbeha is prayed from 10:15pm - 11:30pm.

Our Sunday School Servants aim to bring up children in the Fear of God, to teach them Humility, Love, Prayer, Faith, the Holy Bible and the virtues of a Christian life. The Sunday School Department is split into two sectors. The Primary School which caters for Kindergarten to Yr 6 and the High School for students of Yr 7 through to Yr 12.

The Purpose of This Ministry

By the grace of God and under the spiritual guidance of our Fathers Bishoy, Youhanna and Mikhail, the Young Professionals' Youth Ministry seeks to serve the senior Coptic youth in the true Spirit of Christ. It is our prayer to impart to our youth "the width and length and depth and height" of Christ's love, to awaken in each the immensity of Christ's sacrifice and to bring each person into the loving arms of the Father, "to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem" [Eph.3:18, Heb.12:22]

The Running of This Ministry

We meet every week (without exception)! Here are the details:

When: Sunday Nights, commencing 7:30PM
Where: The English church (downstairs) in the Church of St Merkorious, Abu Sefein
Topics/ Speakers: We come together to share the living scripture in the form of a Bible Study, led by a speaker. (However, on the first Sunday of every month, the meeting coincides with the general COYA youth meeting commencing at the earlier time of 7:00PM, and also held in the Church of St Merkorious, Abu Sefein.)

Notification of the speaker and scriptural material for each Sunday is sent by e-mail on a weekly basis and will also be available on this webpage.
Who attends: Although we seek to cater for the senior youth (24yo +), ALL are welcome!
